Samira Sukhatme is an abstract artist, illustrator and an architect. She comes from a family of architects, engineers, artists and Indian classical singers, which has helped shape the artist she is today.
Growing up Samira spent a lot of time by the beach, among plants gardening with her mother at their family farm house or painting in her room, in Mumbai, India. As a young teenager Samira took several art classes to polish her drawing and painting skills. After finishing her architectural studies, she worked for architecture firms in Mumbai and Hong Kong. She also taught architectural design and mentored students at her alma mater for 4 years. Working with young and creative energies inspired her to move her childhood passion of painting into an art career. Having spent 3 years in Goa, India as a full time artist, Samira moved to Vancouver with her partner in 2018.
